Step-by-Step Guide to Measuring Arm Length for Violin Size
Tools Needed:
A tape measure (preferably flexible and in inches or centimeters).
Position the Arm:
Extend the left arm straight out to the side, keeping it parallel to the ground.
The arm should not be bent at the elbow.
Measure from Neck to Palm:
Place the starting point of the tape measure at the base of the neck (where the neck meets the shoulder).
Measure along the extended arm to the middle of the palm (not the fingertips).
Note the Measurement:
Record the measurement in inches or centimeters.

Additional Tips
Test for Comfort: After selecting the size, have the player hold the violin in playing position. The scroll should be within reach of the palm or fingers without fully straightening the arm.
